Higher education institutions from Serbia can be applicants or partners in Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD) projects together with higher education institutions from Programme and Partner Countries.
Citizens of Serbia can apply for scholarships for a joint master programme within Erasmus+ Key Action 1, provided that they apply for one of the labelled master programmes, the list of which is available on the web page of EACEA (former Erasmus Mundus master programmes) and that they fulfill the other criteria stated there.
Students and teaching staff can not submit individual applications for mobility scholarships to the European Commission, National agencies or Erazmus+ offices, but should contact one of the organizations or institutions participating in EMJMD projects.
HEIs established in a Programme Country must hold a valid Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE).
EMJMD proposals at application stage must present fully developed, often interdisciplinary, master programmes which will attract students from around the world. The cooperation between HEIs is based on the obligatory mobility of students between members of the consortium. All participating HEIs established in a Programme Country must be Master degree-awarding institutions. The successful completion of the joint project EMJMD Master programme must lead to the award of either a joint degree or a multiple degree for EMJMD graduates.
An EMJMD is transnational and involves partner HEIs from at least three different Programme Countries. EMJMD programme must be an integrated international study programme of 60, 90 or 120 ECTS credits. Implementation of the EMJMD programme includes 4 consecutive intakes of 1 to 2 academic years (60/90/120 ECTS credits) and optional preparatory year (additional 1 academic year). Depending on the duration of the EMJMD (1 to 2 academic years) and whether the consortium chooses to undertake a preparatory year, the consortium will receive a grant agreement for a minimum duration of 4 and a maximum of 6 academic years to finance 4 consecutive student intakes.
