Knowledge Alliances are two-year or three-year transnational projects that are implemented in cooperation between higher education institutions and enterprises in all disciplines and sectors.
Institutions from the Republic of Serbia from the Call 2019 may be coordinators or full partners in Knowledge Alliances projects.
Projects of this type tend to achieve the following goals:
- development of new, innovative and multidisciplinary approaches to teaching and learning
- stimulating entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial skills of teaching staff at faculties and universities and employees in enterprises
- enabling exchange, flow and joint knowledge creation
Primary attention is devoted to projects that contribute to the modernization of European higher education systems in line with the European Commission’s Modernization Agenda for Higher Education in Europe.
Types of activities
Activities supported within the Knowledge Alliance projects are, inter alia, the development and implementation of new methods of learning and teaching (for example, the development of a new multidisciplinary curriculum), the organization of continuous education programs and activities for and within companies, the development of learning models and the application of transversal skills in cooperation with enterprises, introduction of entrepreneurial education, exchange of students, teachers and researchers and employees in companies, participation of employees in enterprises in teaching and research. Public or private organizations from the Programme and Partner Countries can participate in projects of the Knowledge Alliances: higher education institutions, public or private, small, medium and large enterprises, research institutes, public institutions at local, regional and national level, organizations active in the field of education, training and youth, etc. The application for a project on the behalf of the consortium is submitted by an organization from the Programme Country to the Executive Agency in Brussels. Organizations from Serbia can participate as coordinators or as partners. Organizations from Partner Countries can participate as partners in this type of project, but only with explanation of how their participation particularly contributes to the project, i.e. how their involvement represents an added value. Minimum consortium consists of at least six independent organizations from at least three Programme Countries, out of which at least two higher education institutions and at least two companies.
The maximum amount of the grant for two-year projects is 700,000 euros, and 1,000,000 euros for three-year projects. Within the projects, it is possible to finance the costs of implementation (staff costs), travel expenses and residence expenses.
