KA2 – European universities

From the Call 2019, Erasmus + introduces a new concept of funding of European Universities. This programme is an integral part of the Knowledge Alliance within Key Action 2, and applications are submitted directly to the Executive Agency for Education, Culture and Media (EACEA).

European Universities involve partnerships between at least 3 higher education institutions in the Programme Countries, while participation is also open to higher education institutions from Partner Countries. The aim of the programme is to create inclusive associations of higher education institutions that will contribute to the development of joint study programmes, international teams to address common social challenges and to improve student exchange systems that would be integrated into study programs.

In the Calls 2019 and 2020, pilot calls for projects are being implemented. In the next Programme, which will last from 2021 to 2027, European universities are expected to become an established funding scheme.

More information about the conditions of the Call for proposals and the rules of application can be found on the website of the Executive Agency in Brussels, as well as in the Programme Guide.
