A series of events throughout Serbia from 23 to 30 September 2020 marks the European Week of Sport, an initiative of the European Commission aimed at encouraging citizens across Europe, regardless of age and physical fitness, to engage in physical activity, but also at educating them about a healthy lifestyle.
Activities within the European Week of Sport in Serbia are coordinated by the Olympic Committee of Serbia and the Ministry of Youth and Sports and are carried out in cooperation with partner organizations and institutions from different cities and municipalities, this year under the common slogan “Be active”. All information, including the schedule of activities, is available on the website of the European Week of Sport in Serbia.
European Week of Sport has been celebrated at the European level since 2015, and in Serbia since 2018. More information on this European Commission initiative is available on the central website. Although this is a separate initiative of the European Union from Erasmus+ program, a small number of activities within the European Week of Sport are implemented through Not-for-profit European sports events projects funded by the sports component of the Erasmus+ program – European Union program for education, youth and sports.
