The general goal of the Erasmus+ program in the field of sport is to contribute to the development of the European dimension in sport. In this component of the Erasmus + program, emphasis is placed on transnational projects to support amateur sport and address cross-border challenges, such as match fixing, doping, violence, racism, any form of intolerance and discrimination, and to promote good governance, gender equality, social inclusion and physical activity for all.
There are three types of projects supported in the Erasmus+ sport:
Organizations and institutions from Serbia which are active in the field of sport, including public bodies, can have the role of project applicant (project coordinator) in all three types of Erasmus+ projects in the field of sport, or to participate in these projects as project partners to organizations from other Erasmus+ program countries (program countries are all countries of the European Union, Turkey, Northern Macedonia, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein). According to program rules, project applications can be submitted by organizations and institutions (not by individuals), but funded projects provide the opportunities for participation of individuals.
All activities of the Erasmus+ program in the field of sport are centralized and under the authority of the Executive Agency of the European Commission in charge of Education, Media and Culture (EACEA) based in Brussels.
Deadline for submitting applications for all three types of projects in the Erasmus+ 2019 general call is April 4, 2019 at noon.
